I am keen find out anything that would shed light on fishermen operating out of Wexford, or nearby port, in the mid nineteenth century.
I am told Wexford was not a fishing port but a busy trading port up until the time that Roslare took this trade. However I know there were fishermen working here and want to find out more.
Also, does anyone have information on Cots, a type of fishing boat? I'm told there are three types, one of which has a lug sail and is better suited for use at sea.
I shall be coming to Wexford for three days Wed - Friday 14 - 16 April to see what I can learn. Any info would be most welcome.
